Is is just me...Tesco vs. Shell

Featured Replies

Also, I've read that many brands of fuel come from the same refinery but its the additives/detergents etc that make all the difference between the brands. This is to reduce distribution costs as the base fuel is refined to pretty much the same spec across the board. This means that Shell tankers may take fuel from a BP refinery more local to their forecourt network in that particular area for example.

Not the case with V-Power though, I know a couple of people that work at Stanlow and my brother is a Tanker driver and V-Power is only blended and supplied from the Stanlow refinery in cheshire (for mainland UK that is)

V-power, Umtimate and Tesco 99 are Exclusive to their supplier both in Petrol and Diesel; there is no blending.

Shell V-power Diesel is only available in the South-East so far, whereas V-power petrol is now widely available.

I stand corrected! :bowdown1:

Well, I came up from 95, through 97 [sainsburys] to Tesco 99 and wouldn't go back. I don't know if the car has "more" power but it feels and sounds nicer - more zippy. I'd certainly give the Shell equivalent a go but I doubt if I'd notice much more difference [this is for non turbo petrol].

Oh yeah, and the Tesco has gone down from over

I could always get an extra 50 miles out of a tank of Shell diesel compared to Tesco diesel bought from garages 2 miles apart in my Peugeot 306 diesel. I now try to never put anything other than Shell diesel in my Skoda, the queues at the Shell garage every time I go must mean that I'm not the only one who has noticed!

Where can one buy the 5 ltr size of Millers?????????
