My new Octy vRS (finally)

Featured Replies

Now escaped from the flood ravaged North (where it was being held at port in Grimsby)

My new vRS PD170 COMBI vRS

I was lucky enough to work charm on the Sales Manager again and they fitted my Milotec Lifter for free aswell

(not sure if that means it's covered by "PDI" 3 year warranty principle?)

Very nice!

No flood damage then ;)

Looks the business though, congrats and enjoy the car

Looks an excellent ride height - awesome looking car!

Thanks Dan - hope your handover goes aswell as mine did.

Even had the owner of the dealership comment on how good it looked with Eibachs.

... and thanks Tom.

Seeing how yours sits on the Eibachs I might be making a phone call to the dealer :rubchin:

Sometimes the vRS looks a bit too "floaty" (depends alot on viewing angle and colour).

This drop looks perfect and doesn't seem over firm at all. (in the first 80 miles)

I think the ride height will benefit with a small drop, especially in race blue.

I'll phone them in the morning and have it done with the PDI.

Is it a MY07 or MY08? I'm guessing MY07 by the roof bars but I may be wrong......

Its a MY08 - it has the updated control stalks (ie indicators!)

The silver roof rails are Scout only apparently.

I know my local dealer has ordered some Springs for the Demo cars after seeing mine.

I've just been pulling apart a nice new 2008MY with 68 miles on the clock:P

Mind you it does now have Bluetooth, MFD2 and Talex installed so it's not all bad.

Darn it

Depending on the price and availability do you think you'll do a retro?

I was looking forward to seeing light bars on your black magic wagon :o

Well I knew they didn't have silver roof bars before a I saw it (courtesy of the VIN Decoder).

When I saw it I actually liked the "stealth look".

So no to silver upgrade.

Fair enough, I think you've thrown enough money at it for now :D

Enjoy

Car looks amazing but the roof bar thing doesnt seem right. It was one of the first questions I asked and the dealer made a call to SUK to check. They confirmed that all 2008 estates WOULD come with silver roof bars! If SUK have got it wrong I will be very dissapointed. :(

  • Author

Well I am prepared to be proved wrong - I think we may have to wait to see the new stock coming through on this one (whatever SUK say!).

Very nice car, looks superb! Question though, it looks like your exhaust exit is on the right of the car, is that a function of the fact it's an estate? Just that on my 2.0tdi hatch it's on the left . . .

Unless it's mirrored ;)

excellent stuff mate :o) car looks great!

did you get all of your light assistance pack?

any pics of the lifter too? :D no rush though!

Unless it's mirrored ;)

It must be. That or the petrol flap has been stolen & filled in ;)

Looks very well indeed on those springs. Might have to get some :)

I think a few vRS owners are looking at that ride height with Eibachs in mind :D

I know I am.

You'll have to furnish us Briskodians with more piccies when you get time over the weekend Paul (it has to run out of fuel at some point ;)).

Looks very nice

The sharp eyed and sharp brains have answered your own question.

Yeah - sorry I took pics with car facing t'other way. But my pics with the car "facing forward" (ie towards the right) looked pants because of the back lighting ... so I cheated and flip'd it. :o

Lovely car. Fill me in on the Eibachs? Are these available through a dealer or direct from Eibach themselves?

New pics: (you'll have to wait for tomorrow for the bonnet lifter)

EIBACHs are a third party manufacturer (like Brembo for brakes, BBS for wheels etc).

They are available from Skoda dealer or direct. Also I believe VRStu was running a GB on Eibachs and FSD shocks for a good price.

My dealer fitted them at PDI thus they gain 3 years warranty.
