I think the Fabia looks a bit too noddy car and quirky when compared to the competition which all look a bit more sleak and stylish.... I think Skoda have thrown away the "grown up" appeal of the Mk1 which is a shame. Will be interesting to see what they do with the vRS.

And lol at the sick comment!!!

Yes it has lost its mature looks, and I think the reason behind it was that Skoda wanted to target a younger age group. Having seen one on the road, you do have to look twice to make sure its not a Roomster, and there lies the problem, its basically has a Roomster front melded to it. Not really keen on the headlamps. Dont think will have one unless it gets some sort of design tweek next year.

How come , in the 'puke picture' , that Fabia has a white roof? I thought the white roof wasnt on the spec list yet?

not availible in the uk. but everywhere else it seems!:o

Saw my first one today.... thought it was a Roomster at first, then as it went past realised it didn't look as good...... twas a Mk2 Fab :o

Just looked like an average super-mini to me, nothing special.... on a par with a Fiesta... :(

I will still reserve total judgement till I have seen a top spec one in black, silver or even orange with the larger alloys :)

saw my first one yesterday and that was black awfull reminded me of London taxi

I've seen a few now in various colours, and (sorry to any owners) still think it looks average to awful. Don't want to sound all arty, but it's just not a coherant design - it looks like one guy designed the front, another the side, and someone else the rear. Compared to the Mk 1 it's a big step back IMO. I also don't think it will grow on me because I felt the same way about the the MK V Golf compared to the Mk IV and the new BMW 3 series to the old, and still do in both cases. I'm obviously a traditionalist! Anyway, as I posted elsewhere, Skoda have cost me a fortune with the MK 2 Fabia as I've used it as an excuse to order an Audi A3 Sportback. Now that IS a nice bit of design !

Audi A3......mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.they are great looking.mite buy myself a second hand 1 in a few years

i think the interior is a big step back too it was supposed to be the be all and end all but in truth feels cheap and nasty the whole car looks and feels c#ap imho

Had one as a courtesy car and it was awful. Really poor spec on the basic model imo and awful to drive compared to the 1.2 mk1 I used before.

I shall not be replacing my Vrs with a new one, if it has any resemblance to the 'new' fabia, I'm sorry to say.

It reminds one of a bread van.

Look what they did to the Focus Mk2...imo:thumbdwn:

Many, including main dealer salesmen, prefer the sharp looks of the Mk1.

The Ka Mk2 due out next year looks pretty dowdy too. Squashed Fiesta.

Fortunately, the Mk3 facelifted Focus due out next year looks much sharper.

I agree though. The new Fabia does look a bit 'pants'

I think they new ones (all one colour) and the white roofed one in the adverts look okay, but yesterday I went past West End Garage in Broxburn.

They have a bright Yellow one with a Black roof.:ashamed: :nono: :tired:

Ah, the shock of the new - or should that be "nearly new" in the case of the "new" Fabia. Like the much-disliked-when-new current BMW line, it will grow on you....

I agree.

Which makes it interesting, in my book. The fact it's not an instant liker, with a few additions, the vRS being the main, the Fabia could be a real grower.

Got me thinking... in the case of BMW, if the new 3 series had a Mitsibushi badge on it - would it sell? Would the new Golf sell as well with a Proton badge on it? Probably not, so the strength of the Skoda badge could well be the determining factor of the Fabia.

I saw my first Fabia Mk2 today , a grey Fabia 2 (alloys but no plastic side moulding) I quite liked it actually , I think the shape is slowly beginning to grow on me. Maybe by the time I can afford one , I might actually want one! :)

I drive a 1.9 TDI Ocky Mk II and my wife drives a 1.4 Fabia Mk I .

I test drove a 1.4 Fabia Mk II and disliked it from the moment I moved off. The most unnerving thing was that it felt unsafe, can't pin down exactly why but it just did. I drove it fairly energetically on well known roads and and it staid put but did not feel as though it wanted to.

By contrast when I test drove the Ocky II it felt very safe and I bought one as soon as I had finished the test drive. In normal use the Ocky sticks to the road as if it is on rails, I just love it. My wife's Mk I Fabia also drives very nicely and feels quite safe.

I was contemplating downsizing to a Fabia Mk II but gave the the idea on the spot.
