saw my 1st new fabia today in black outside a chip shop in Bradford.was going to turn round and have a look but it would have been a waste of time and petrol.

looks like a new Roomster in 2 years then.

yeah its a roomster with the roof chopped off. Skoda are goin down the route of Vauxhall.

all there cars looking the same !!!

Its called brand image.

They are all doing it now (and have been for some time).

went to keiths in bradford this morning for some windscreen wash so i thought i'll have a proper close up at the new fabia.

it doesn't look to bad i guess but the room in the back looks small.

hopefully i'll get 1 has a courtesy car in september.

Or you could look at what other brands are offering ;) Imho, the Roomster is even uglier than the new Fabia

Any car line you could think of always has a zenith - that point where it's as good as it gets.

New Fabia looks totally different - just that.

I am biased. But I think that the 2005 Fabia vRS was the high point of the Fabia - the new ecologically correct engine with it's ecologically correct stutter pretty much was a downturn.

Sorry if any offense is taken - just my opinion......

Bas

I seen a new fabia last night, at first glance I thought it was a roomster, but I think it depends on the colour, the non metalic red really suits it and is tempting me to get one now.

:iagree: Guess which MY I have! ;):D

Ah, the shock of the new - or should that be "nearly new" in the case of the "new" Fabia. Like the much-disliked-when-new current BMW line, it will grow on you....

new Fabia looks **** in black, nice in other colours, and the room in the back is greatly improved over the Mk1

Saw / briefly inspected a 1.2 in white.

Hmmm, not impressed TBH - particularly with the nose.

So Skodas are going backwards rather than forwards. What a shame.

One can only imagine how they will mess up the Octavia.

You may well be right, but the front end is really ugly and the height and width just make it look your typical OAP car. Sorry.

By the way, although I have never owned and will never be able to own a new BMW, I love the front ends of the recent models.

'Course you can! As long as you can stump up 2 or 3 grand as a deposit , and around

I'm just not sure...looks like a 1 series BMW in that pic crossed with a mini and I am definately no fan of bungling Bangle and his flame grilled stuff or flame effect or whatever it is

Don't think it has the impact of when the Fabia first came out and there is an awful lot of smart looking competition out there...

Like the pug and the Fiat.

Would certainly prefer the Fabia to the Vauxhall,Ford and Renault offerings though

I think the Fabia looks a bit too noddy car and quirky when compared to the competition which all look a bit more sleak and stylish.... I think Skoda have thrown away the "grown up" appeal of the Mk1 which is a shame. Will be interesting to see what they do with the vRS.

And lol at the sick comment!!!

Actually having got a new Fabia (6 weeks old now), I've had a bit of a chance to compare to some of its rivals. The thing thats strikes me most is that the Fabia is that much bigger than most of them, it always looks tall to me and slightly 'pumped up' if you know what I mean. Where it does catch the eye is viewing it side on from a distance, it does seem to have a slightly aggressive pose from this angle. Its close up from the front that lets it down IMHO.

Running wise the car is very good. Lots of room and near 50mpg on a run. Only 800 miles so far, so the engine is still tight, but cruises easily enough at 80.

Andy

In that collection of photos, is the silver one a Suzuki? Is it me, or does that not look too dissimilar to the new Fabia?
