VR6 Golf......

Featured Replies

Boy those things motor !! I had a VERY hard time with one in my Octy vRS when he decided that he wanted to play. Just when I thought that I would I would start to leave him approaching the legal limit, he went past on the inside and there was nothing I could do about it.......

I know that he had another 1000cc's of engine capacity but this has really highlighted the need for me to get my cat Jabba'd at the earliest opportunity !! The early Lotus Elise that tried it on about 15 minutes later was another story altogether ! :D

Cheers,

ian

Ian,

if it was a MK3 Golf...it'd have less power....174bhp IIRC. Only really comes on song around 4k rpm...low down torque delivery not so great either. Much better with VSR inlet manifold though.

MK4 has 204bhp but 4x4 transmission so I'd imagine it to be quite heavy.

have you made your Jabba booking BTW?

The vr6's arent that quick, heavy and not economically tuneable.

Sounds like a supercharger might of been at play...Octys come on song at 70 and the 70-100 time is very rapid...

It's a '74 Mexico that has been fitted with a 207BHP Vauxhall XE lump, big brakes, TranX 'box, LSD, full cage etc, etc....... Makes the Octy feel like a right lump of lard I can tell you...... Mind you, it's hard work to drive for more than an hour or so !! :D

Ian

Cool.

Does it have the wide tarmac arches?
