Equipment =

Hoover (Dyson)

Cloth (old tshirt)

Dash Shine (Tesco)

Bucket (Tesco)

Sponge (Tesco)

Car shampoo (Tesco)

Hose (garden centre)

Water (Anglian Water)

Leather (cow)

Started by hoovering througout the interior, then applied dash shine to seats, door cards and dash area.

Hosed exterior, then shampooed, rinsed off and leathered.

Time taken = 45 mins.

Any pics? :p

Seriously though would be good to see a comparison between two cars, one with a normal wash/dry method, another that takes a whole day to clean.

:wrthless:

It took my mate and I two days to get my car to look like this

My friend let me use the corner of his garage for a couple of day, we had........

A couple of hundred pounds worth of polishes, waxes etc.

Loads of microfibre cloths.

Two polishing machines and a roll of masking tape.

In total it took us 10hours because I wanted the car to look perfect for the summer, which I'm still waiting for:(

Wot, no Fairy liquid?

Wot, no Fairy liquid?

:orb_faint

I use fairy liquid before I detail a car, both covering the car with it as foam and in the bucket. Removes most if not all of the old wax/fillers/contaminants on the paint surface.

Tis very true but very crude way of doing it.

Some cleaner fluid or even a clay bar will work just as well though and that will remove every last bit

ouch and all the salt in it too!!

A clay bar will only pick up particles from the surface, it won't remove old wax/sealant etc
