Went to the Duxford warbirds airshow and took a few (hundred) piccies

I'll put them up as I sort them out and resize them ....but I think I am finally starting to get the idea on my canon 400d

I'm just getting to grips with a 400D myself. I've ditched the kit lense, and brough a 17-85 IS from a friend to replace it.

They're cracking cameras, though. A friend of mine was there -if you saw a big ginger bloke with a bright red face from the sun -that was Mark!

I was quite pleased with that one ....just caught it banking towards me the sky and clouds did the rest.......makes great wallpaper on the computer.

And that smoke was just normal display smoke but the sun made it look real

Yep, I did the same with my 350D, which uses the same kit lens. It was after much deliberation, but I'm really happy with the 17-85 - it's a great everyday lens.

Love the photos posted too - especially that first one! I thought you'd hitched a ride up there as well
