Octy twin exit exhausts?

Featured Replies

Hi All

I was thinking about having a new exhaust fitted (cat back) ready for the dp and cat next year.

Has anyone here got an octy with twin exit exhausts?

I have had a look and it looks like the tow hitch is smack bang in the middle of where the second pipe would go.

Anyone with any photos/thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.

Pretty much got it in one Mike.

Would be interested in one myself.

I guess you would have to split the pipe before the rear beam or just after to route either side.

The toe eye would have to be resited. I imagine there's enough space for another rear box down the rhs. You'd alos have to cut the rear bumper for the second outlet.

IIRC, Powerflow in St. Albans said it couldn't be done.....may be this was down the the toe eye siting and a reluctance to resite it.

Yeah thats what i was thinking.

There is deffo space for a back box and a place to join into the existing/new exhaust down the right hand side and cutting out wouldnt be a problem.

but if i site it far right then it would look stupid against the original, unless i moved that to far left?? but that would leave a big hole where the original pipe came out!!!

it would be a lot of work unless filling in the original space wouldnt be aproblem?? :ne_nau:

Ah well

Side pipes?

Interesting :D:D:D:D

the only way to do it is to cut out the wheel well and weld a flat sheet over.

you could not have a tow bar as well.

one day i will get round to it.

Ah Well

Not going to all that trouble then :(

Will put thinking cap on for another idea

Afternoon,

Talking of exhausts, does anyone have good/bad experiences of the Jetex oval cat-back system as supplied by Jabba and Motor Sport World? i.e. fitting, sound - don't want anything TOO loud  and appearance. Any photos? Shame there are no twin systems a la Audi, with outlets at either end of the valance. I reckon this would suit the Octy well. Anyone with a custom system like this?

Cheeri ho :)

I have the Jetex cat back fitted by Jabba.

Quality fitment....went on first time, no problems.

Oval fits the bumper cut out nicely. It is a little louder/meatier in sound than standard but could not in any stretch of the imagination be called loud.

If you want a deeper and slightly louder sound, get a sports dp/cat.

Pics.......will post some tomorrow as:

1) they're on my work pc

2) it's easier to post from work ;)

As a taster go to the Jabba site and under "new products" there's a pic of my RS with the Jetex cat back.

Cheers.

Adrian.

Thanks Adrian, that sounds just what I am after

Will check out the pics tomorrow, off to the Jabba site shortly for a preview.

Some pics for ya.....just click on the following:

I had a 20v Bravo HGT before the vRS and everyone had said twin exit exhausts wern't possible because the fuel tank was too close, but I found a really helpful powerflow dealer in Stafford who was fantastic!

Where everyone else said it couldn't be done he got one on in about 3 hours.

It's run by just one guy round the side of a Hi-Q tyre dealer.

Might be worth a call to him..

Pictures please.

Picture is of one back box but you can clearly read

2x90x76mm, tailpipe: Monaco (R+L)

Paul (Monkey Boy) might have used this guy in the past, either him or another Powerflow dealer in Stoke...

anyway, anything is possible if you go to the right place ;)

My Octy exhaust will be done at powerflow Stafford as he is very good. I had the same problem with my Megane Coupe. You could get a twin 4" as there was no room for a back box on both sides but he said it could be done.

Looking for something along these lines for the Octy.

Decided against the upswept DTM look then Paul

I dont do DTM's :finger:

Got to go and have a look at his tailpipes as he has got some new ones coming in next weekend.

Spoken to the bodyshop about my bumper and just need to find 2 fabia vrs rear bumpers  or a standard octy rear bumper :o

have fun then !
