Red or green calipers?

Featured Replies

What's the history with having either red or green brake calipers on the Octavia VRS?

I was expecting them to be green when I ordered the car, purely because every VRS I'd seen on the road had green, but they are red.

Is this a 2007 change or a diference between petrol & diesel?

Blissful ignorance on this subject.

Red came on the 2007MY onwards cars, all Green before that.

It's green again for the MY2008 on

The MY2008 ones I've seen in the UK are red.

Yep blue is R32 trademark.

I know Andrey who is in Russia has a 2007MY car and has green so perhaps there are some regional variations.

That would be nice :)

red on my MY2008 petrol version.

Maybe,

... but downgraded by Vauxhall who are using Blue callipers on the VXR Corsa and Astra (Vectra as well perhaps).

They are though sticking to Red on the new VXR8 (Monaro replacement) and Porsche use red on the 911s so I think we are in good company being red - if we can't have green.

had mine friday, and they're red.

They also use yellow on the ceramic brakes. Imho, brake calipers should either be red or black

Would have to agree I think the red looks far better especially on a Black Car than green.

On my second OctyII vRS and can confirm what has been said before, 2006MY were green but were changed to red from 2007MY. I don't believe that Skoda have any plans to go back to green callipers but I have been known to be wrong! :o:)

I do not know about the UK but my vRS TFSi built in 21/05/2007 has green calipers.

Up to now in Greece all 2006MY had green calipers and all 2007MY had red ones.

Since my car is one week short of 2008MY, I guess they changed them again to green (at least for cars to be shipped in Greece).

Either that or they had some old green paint knocking around and wanted to get shot if it :P
