Heated front seats

Featured Replies

I would really like to have heated front seats on our Elegance as a surprise for the Missus.

The dealer says no way unless I have leather. Is this right ?

Cheers

The leather seats come with electric adjustment, active headrests and the heating function so i'm sorry to say I am pretty sure he is right.

Saying that, you can have it as an option on the vRS and that only has part leather seats. I had to argue with the salesman as he didn't think I was right.

Just ask to overide NSR order system with code PWO

Heated Front Seats UK option as of 18/1/07

Any probs refer to SUK technical

If it's been an option as of the start of this year why is it no one knows about it?

What other unknown options are people missing out on?

Quite. I'd have liked to have had heated seats on my Elegance too (built mid-May 2007).

I was lucky, by watching these forums I was made aware of this little known option so my wife is very happy to have heated seats.

The other halfs car is a vRS, picking it up Friday (fingers crossed :D)

The seat bolsters are the only leather bits but heated seats are still optional, look back at the post from Paul (VRS195) about the option code and fire it at your dealer.

When was the car ordered?

Dont know about UK specs, but you can get heating seats standard

on ANY seat model or material in Northern countries.

Northern countries are ruddy cold so heated seats make more sense.

A bit like the auxiliary heater, only available in the really chilly climes

Can you get the heated rear seats in Finland?

I pressume you mean Skoda Dealers?

When have you ever come across a Salesman who new anything about cars?

We all know stuff before they do, it's embarrassing!

There was another available option that I came across (not publicised on options list), I didn't want it and I can't remember what it was now. Not very helpful, sorry.

The heated seat issue came about as a result of my quest to get them on my new vRS back in January. I knew of at least one dealer who had managed to fool the ordering system into building a UK spec. vRS with the seats.

Armed with the chassis number of said car, I approached Skoda (via my very co-operative dealer) and asked them why it wasn't a standard option. After several discussions with Warren Richards (Skoda UK marketing director), it was agreed that heated seats would be added to the vRS options list from February onwards.

However, Skoda UK have been slow to communicate this fact to the world at large. My local dealer (Loders in Yeovil) refused to believe that my car had heated seats until they actually saw it. Even now, they still say that it's impossible for them to order a vRS with them, despite numerous other dealers doing it successfully.

It's my hope that heated seats will eventually find it into the brochure, so that all of this confusion goes away. Until that happens, be persistent if your dealer claims it can't be done, as we all know it can.

On a related note, one of my colleagues is currently trying to get the Skoda bluetooth kit factory installed on his new vRS order. From what I understand, pretty much any combination of options you can think of can be ordered, as long as you know the correct build codes. I'll report back if he has any success.

Bagpuss.

I still can't believe this is causing problems in the UK when you can order them in Ireland    @ Bagpuss was it you I got the code for originally  ?

Hi Gaff,

Yep, it was me. We had quite an extended thread on this issue, and it was a real community effort which persauded Skoda to change their minds.

It's one of the great things about the Skoda fraternity and the internet. I don't believe there is any way I could have got what I wanted without the help of forum members and my very co-operative dealer (who just wanted me to be happy).

I just find it frustrating that Skoda UK still won't put the seats on the published options list :(

Bagpuss.

Yup; it worked for me too.

My dealer knew nothing about it when I was ordering my car at the end of January; until I told him (courtesy of Bagpuss and Briskoda). I have them on my vRS and use the driver's side pretty much every day (even now).

Wish the dealers knew as much as some of you guys did!

It would be nice wouldn't it.

There must be a few clued up sales bods about surely.

Can you get the heated rear seats in Finland?

Yep. Optional, but you can order them.

And you can have your factory auxiliary heating (mostly used to warm engine before start when the temp goes down) to heat engine AND cabin just by opening a valve in the enginebay... They sell it only as cabin heating, and thats why most dont order it here and they buy it from 3rd party.
