Quick update. Plates have still not arrived.

I called Dubmeister on Friday 3rd August. They told me they are waiting for a delivery of the Czech flag borders that they are happy with. The ones they have been getting have not been too great apparently!

Hopefully they should get some next week, and I should hopefully have my plates a couple of days later.

As soon as I've got them I'll get some pics up.

Seriously though, finally got my plates and surrounds sorted. In case anyone else orders these plates from Dubmeister, please make sure you specify the Czech Flag, or you might just get a standard blue end badge, with CZ and the Euro stars in a ring, as I did first time. In fairness though, they sent those because they had run out of the Czech Flag ones, and were waiting for a new batch to come. When they did they sent me new plates with the right flag on. Great service.

What I had to do to get the surrounds sorted, (seeing I have no plans to visit CZ in the near future!), was to buy a pair of plain black surrounds, (they are available on Ebay and the like), you need to make sure they are 'lipped' ones in order to fit the lower text. Then I got a local printer to make me a pair of laser cut vinyl stickers to fit the 'lipped' part, (I just gave him the surrounds for sizing and left him to it). Got the stickers back next day, then I cleaned the 'lipped' part with alcohol wipe, applied the sticker, and hey presto!, Robert is indeed you Dad's brother! lol.

The surrounds cost me about a fiver, and the stickers cost me

Excellent. I believe you can buy them in most petrol stations in CZ, and they are really cheap apparently. If he can find them tell him to buy as many as he can, because you'll definately shift them on here.

The only trouble I have found with my plates/surrounds so far, is everyone thinks;

a) That I'm a bloody imigrant!

Picked half a dozen up in a Skoda dealer in Mlada Boleslav today. These have the Skoda emblem on them and look quite ok.

Just be aware that the paint on the dubm' plates is quite soft on the lettering

and rather prone to chipping :(

Had my car at the dealer's today for a minor fix. The "After Sales Manager" admired my Group Buy surrounds and asked where he could get some.
