Czech Number Plate Surrounds

Featured Replies

I have been in touch with a great guy called Paul at Dubmeister - Where performance meets style! to enquire about Skoda/Czech number plate surrounds.

He tells me he can get them, but they would have to do a group buy of 200 units from Germany.

Apparently, Dubmeister have done this before for Briskoda members, and he tells me that he's happy to do a bit of reaearch, and if there is still a market, then he'll look at putting in an order.

What I've said to Paul is that I would put this thread up here, and if any Briskodians are interested, then email Paul at [email protected] and log your interest.

Sorry if this treads on anyone's toes, (I have seen a similar thread on here, but can't remember where, or indeed find it again), but I am not involved in the sales of these, I am just a new Briskodian who wants some Czech Dealer plate surrounds. Perhaps if there is enough interest, we can ensure a constant supply of these, for replacements where neccessary, and for new members like myself.

fraid i missed out on the GB that quiten ran so i have emailed my interest

Great idea, emailed them already. :)

For anyone else that is interested, there is a pic of my car below.

There are two items that you may wish to consider. The Skoda number plate surround (bought via Quinten) and the pressed plate (bought via the Dubmeister Group Buy).

I'm not sure where Q got the surrounds from - and I know the "Skoda Auto ......" text was a bit smaller on the main batch.

Hope that helps,

Andy

A friend of mine went to the GTi International show and seen these, but they did`nt bring any, but I rang a few days later and they sent me a pair. They look superb with the new tinted plates I bought too(very subtle) the only thing I would say though is that the two clips that push through and hold the plate in at the bottom are bright white!...although a quick colouring job job with a black marker sorted to that!

they look really good andy2407, are those pressed plates ok with plod nowadays?

that surround is german, not czech

I think Dubmeister won't guarantee that they are strictly legal for street use (they are sold as show plates) but if you stick to UK font, GB badging (optional) and don't have any of the "stadt stickers" in the middle you are pretty unlikely to get pulled.

There are a lot worse examples out there in my opinion.

In addition, I keep my old plates in the spare wheel well, so if I do ever get stopped I can offer to change back to those immediately (tools not needed if you have the surround) which will hopefully help me avoid any fine.

Yeah I know!

When I posted this, I couldn't find the exact one, (see Quentin's for clarification). If Dubmeister does do a bulk buy, then I would suggest he will get them with the same text as is on Quentin's surrounds.

Need to remember that it's not just the font and stadt's etc. The fact that these pressed plates are not reflective makes them 100% illegal straight away. That said, it would have to be a tosspot of a plod that pulled you for that though, then again, that covers just about all traffic plod doesn't it?

They do look good though!

I've just had a thought. I work for Peugeot, at the main dealer in Bolton, (Perrys Peuegot). We order our batch number plates from Bestplate in Blackpool, http://www.bestplate.co.uk/ (not much info on their site though!).

On Monday I'm going to give them a call to see if they can supply blank number plate surrounds. Then if they do, an old mate of mine runs a sign printing shop in Bolton, I'll give a call and price up some laser cut vinyl stickers to fit along along the bottom. With a bit of luck, hey presto, Czech plate surrounds, sorted!

I'll keep you all informed.

you can buy blank surrounds from PlateMyRide.co.uk - Pressed alloy show Plates - Worldwide! at

I think Dubmeister can supply them with CZ and the Czech Flag in the blue band? Im sure I've seen them on here somewhere!

for anyone looking for Czech plates, i just came across this site:

Chech Republic Custom Plate

ordered a couple and total bill was

Dubmeisters plates are reflective btw :)

Another thought - the Dubmeister plates do not have their postcode on which I believe is also a legal requirement these days.

Again, I would hope that traffic plod have more to worry about than that!

I'm hoping to get one of those "Ceska Republika" ones in Czech. I like them. :)

Think the plates you are meaning are on Baker21's Superb in the Members Cars section, they do look good.

I've ordered my plates from Dubmeister. Gone for the pressed plates with Czech flag, like Baker21's, but with UK font. Still working on my Czech surrounds though, I think I'm pretty close to a viable solution. Hopefully some pics will follow in a day or two.

No, I know! The Czech flag/logo is not actually on their site. See my post above for how to order them.

Cheers, let us know how you get on.
