They were a very friendly and knowledgeable bunch when I had my mk4 Golf!!

The A4 has a completely different 2.8 engine, it's a proper V6. However that also sums up the engine in the Golf! Very refined, but too quiet and too smooth which makes it feel slow.

I test drove two a few years ago as I really wanted to want one but couldn't fall in love with it at all. Slow steering, soggy suspension and hideous light wood trim!

So I bought a 1.8t GTI instead, and after a while decided that wasn't very good either even after I'd modified it, hence ended up with my Fabia vRS. Now I have a half way house: Fabia chassis and 1.8t engine = Polo GTI
