Used Skoda Warranty and servicing

Featured Replies

Hi,

I got a 12 months warranty when I bought my Furby Vrs from my local Skoda dealer.

I asked the dealer about servicing and it's effect on the warranty, and he said I didn't have to have the car serviced at a Dealer, or an "authorised" Skoda service agent etc....

Does anyone know if it's possible to service the vehicle oneself without invalidating the warranty? And what's involved paperwork wise?

I ask because a couple of years ago I bought a Rover and I invalidated the warranty because I serviced the car myself.

Thanks.

Phil.

Your dealer was reffering to the EU Block Examption Rules -

You can have your vehicle serviced elsewhere as long as they are VAT registered garage, they follow the service schedule and use genuine parts.

I would think that you will need to get it serviced at a VAT registered garage. You can use genuine, OEM or non genuine parts, but in the event of a warranty claim it will be up to you to prove that whatever parts you used were of comparable quality to the genuine parts.
