Auto recirculation mode in reverse ?

Featured Replies

According to the Octavia Tips and Tricks thread, the climate control system is meant to automatically go into recirculation mode when reverse is selected.

Two questions:

1) Does this apply to all models?

2) Is the light on the button supposed to light up when this happens? If not, how do you know it's working?

Many thanks.

1)Yes

2)No

If your quiet you will hear the flap moving, if fan speed is high enough you may well hear the change.

Isn't the same for when you use the washers? I'm sure I notice change in fan noise when I wash the windscreen - plus I don't smell the wash.

Even our current Fabia does this.

I hope it does not work with the washers ! I like the smell !

Octy 1 does neither of these fairy things :gay: :P

Yes it comes on with the washers as well, I miss the smell of the VW lemon washer fluid :P

Hi!

What model year is yours? Mine is 2005 made and I can smell the washer fluid.

You'll never eliminate the smell completely as the recirc damper/flap isn't quick enough to act.
