Skoda Dealers

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was wondering what Skoda Dealers are like if you buy a car for cash? Do you find you can get a better deal or is that they really depend on you taking out Finance with them for that??

Not yet seen a car at a dealers at my sort of price as yet to be honest, but I'd check.

Many thanks in advance

Physical cash is a pain in the ****, but Switch/CC payment is best.

Oh right ok, sounds good to me!!!!!!!!

How about Building Society Cheques?? or is as you say Switch/CC Payment still best??

Cheers

I guess a cheque is ok.

I think cash is frowned upon as it is so much work to check all the notes aren't counterfeit etc.

not only that , but it could be classed as money laundering also if large amounts of cash are used , best to use your cash card if the money is in a bank account or a cheque , obviously a cheque will need to clear first though

I am getting my car on Monday putting some of my own cash and a loan with which I will pay for the car by Debit card The dealer told me large amounts of cash are a problem because of money laundering rules

I used a normal cheque/card for the deposit and a building society cheque for the rest as the dealer said building society cheques were ok to use.

Carrying large amounts of cash around isn't a good idea, especially in this day and age.

Sorry to hijack what are the thoughts on the 2nd part of the question? do you get a better deal, also added with the fact of having no part ex. thanks

I used my Switch Card after first telling the bank that they could expect a big withdrawal. The also knocked me

When you pay by switch they usually just ask to speek to the card holder to verify the transaction, its actually very worringly easy. (not from a security aspect but how easy it is to spend a rather large ammount of money).

My dealer told me they wouldn't accept cash. Switch, CCard or bankers draft only.

If you pay by credit card, make sure your dealer doesn't charge. Mine cahrges 2.5%, quite a chunk if paying

I don't think I got that much better deal by paying for the car in full and having no part ex. TBH I think you are correct in the assumption that they make up margins on the finance and part ex values. I think I got about

before buying the SE, we were looking at getting a used Fab vRS.

The dealer was offering us an immediate discount of
