Fitting storage box under drivers seat?

Featured Replies

Anyone tell me the part number please for a drivers side, under seat box in (black) Onyx.

Understand from previous threads that these can be ordered as they are fitted to LH drive cars.

If I have any problems getting my dealer to order it, has anyone got a dealer who has supplied them before, please.

Picked up my Scout yesterday, my third Octy 4x4, stonking!!!.

Cheers.

Happy Scouting.

One assumes the process is the same if fitting the passenger side one??? Just with a storage draw for the passenger side seat. The mrs's vRS seems to have come from the factory with neither drivers or passengers side storage under the seat!!!! So am thinking of fitting one myself.

Cheers

Dave.

yup, should be the same for the the left but the part nos will be different as the ones above are for the right seat. If its a mis-build though wont the dealer or skoda uk sort it for free?

Not thought about that....... We haven't had the car from new, (it's an 05 plate that we've had for a couple of months and was bought privately). Might mention it when it has it's service next month. Although i suppose it'll be hard work getting them to deal as i have no proof it was like that from new.

i had the same thing with the sill protectors on my L&K (ex demo) which werent there when I bought the car second hand. When I asked the dealer about it they just said it didnt come with any but checking on here I found a few others who did have them. A quick email to skoda UK and they sent a voucher code for me to use to get them fitted for free at any dealer with an apology for them not being fitted from the factory. very good service from them and worth a go in your case.

It'd probably be pretty obvious to them that you havent removed the underseat storage and replaced it with a blank.

Can the box be fitted if you have a drivers eletric seat?

I've just fitted a box under the driver's seat and very nice it is too. However, a word of advice to those of you contemplating the job: TAKE THE SEAT OUT.

I can't imagine how the originator of this post managed it without doing so. There are 4 bolts which come out with an 8mm (I think it was) allen key. You have to unclip the seat cables (seat belt warning and something else) which is a job in itself until you work out how they come apart. Even working out how to get the plastic trim at the front of the seat off taxed me!

Then, of course, I found that there weren't any blanking plugs in the box (well what is black tank tape for?) Nor were there any of the little white clips to stick into the seat frame to receive the screws. Bit of ingenuity with plastic rawlplugs.

Then discovered that my 3/8 drive wouldn't fit through the holes provided. Well what's wrong with philips screws with washers?

Its in now but it took me two gos...Quite a lot of cursing.

My seats have to come out for some soundproofing in September. While they're out I'll fit the nice box that Jase so generously gave me as a pressie...

Does look a bit fiddly to do with the seat in place. But seat bolts are supposed to be renewed ('replaced') if you open them up IIRC.. Me, I'll use locktite on them tbh

Just raise the seat to the highest position, and slide it all the way back, then mirror and torch QED :)

The white clips where already in my seat!

Anyone tried this on an L&K with electric seats.

Seems like there is enough room under there.

I was most surprised to find the one under the passenger seat when hoovering my car out for the first time the other day!! Not decided what to put in it yet.

Not a bad place to stash your 'electrical driving aids'.

Or even a secret stash of biscuits!!

or stuff you dont want the misses to find ;)

I see you're in the Midlands - PM me your location - we may be able to meet up and see if mine fits is yours...
