New Mk2 silver fabia tried to race me!

Featured Replies

It didn't stand a chance. :D

I did :) :) though at the situation - A first for me - It's usually a damn paxo vtr.

Was gonna say, that wouldn't have a hope

Whatever it was it couldn't have had more than 105BHP:O

The New Fabia with 7 engines...........

A shame none of them have any real grunt:thumbdwn:

I am not surprised, and there will probably be many more

Enjoy the mauling:thumbup:

Well the Mk1 fabia had been out for a very long time before the VRS came on sale - nothing different to the Mk2

I can understand the driver's logic though, even if it was in vain :D

"Well I've got a Mk2, that makes it better because it's newer than a Mk1, therefore I will win this contest"

:P

True,

But the old 1.4 16v Produced 100BHP wheras the Mk2 has an 85BHP one, and a 2.0 was avaliable on the mk1 and as we know the performance from that was incredible.....:D

I dont get the 2.0 joke? everynow and then i pops up and i just dont understand how a 2.0 can be quicker than a vrs fabia. IF someonecould PM me the story it would be much appreiciated ;)

Do a search for "mustang" - should bring up the story. :D

either they were stupid or they didnt knoe you Jase

I'd love to have seen the Fabia2 drivers face.

Not seen Jasons car but I've seen those clips of the stock Fabia VRS's vs the tuned VRS's (not quite as tuned as yours mind) do a rolling run side by side on the motorway, and that was a staggering difference as it was.

just to clarify the 2.0 thing, on a dead stop, drag start on chew lakes near bristol, i had a race with another unamed brisky in a unmodified fabia vrs against my fabia 2.0, and he had half a car length more than me at roughly 100mph, so basically there's no difference, but alas the vrs is technically faster, i shold hope so too with 15bhp more

Have a look at the lb/ft figures for the 105..... not that far behind the PD130 in reality... the 105 bit is quite deceptive.

Appreciate what your saying though, would have been nice to see the 2.0TDI (140bhp) in '3' spec from the start.

Bet the driver of said Fabia 2 was quite bemused at being left dead by an 'old' style Fabia though

surely tho with the new mk 2 Fabias having the Vw engines, People can just go to Jabba sport and have a re map which is designed for the golf ????

Depends which engine you're talking about, and if there's anything there that a remap can take advantage of! The 1.9TDi 105 would be the only viable candidate, in my mind.

On the use of the 2.0 PD140 - agree, but then what would be left for inclusion in the vRS? :)

Steve

well like you say the 105bhp unit is the only viable option then that will give you your 140 - 150 bhp mk 2 fabia now.

Indeed, not disagreeing. That said, it's still not going to keep up with Jason :)

lol no i doubt it, have you seen that pic of the new combi Rs, i think the pics a fake ?, what you think ??? looks like new combi pic with red calipers

If they do a "sport" with the 2.0 TDI, I only see one possibility with the new vRS - 2.0 TFSI - yeah baby yeah!!!

i think everyone will be dissapointed with the mk 2 Fabia vrs. The mk 1 vrs was way under powered but skoda targeted it at a different market segment, i.e. people who wanted an economical car with a bit of go in it.

Kerching,,, somebody just made another

Hmm. I would have expected some severe aqua-planing, shortly before sinking out of sight.

perthaps they will do the new 1.8tfsi thats just been put in the octy, that could be a good option 160bhp :)
