hi all i replaced my wipers about 4 moths ago, i put on bosch ones, but the passenger side has always been a bit poor at cleaning the screen and now its just crap!! its just streaking all the time, i have cleaned the blade several times using glass cleaner or vinigar but it keeps doing it, has any one else had this problem

if it is the standard skoda wipers that were on before it may be to do with skoda passinger wiper having a curve in it.

the other thing you could do is to wipe the screen with meths and see if that makes a difference.

Ah - I noticed that when I changed my wipers the other day. I didn't ditch either the passenger one or the driver one as both were different from the inexpensive ones I had got hold of from somewhere sometime ago. The passenger one is curved as you say and the driver one has an aerofoil attachment.

Presumably if I went to the Skoda dealer I would get these shapes again at some vast price. Is there any advantage in the specific shapes, etc ? And can you get just the rubbers (as you used to a while back) so that the original wiper carrier is retained?

Find an old-fashioned chemist's shop (not a Lloyds or similar), and buy some "precipitated chalk". Use that to clean the windscreen.

right so the original ones from skoda are curved, thus wipe better coz they fit the shape of the screen better, and the aftermarket ones that i have are not ,
