Fabia 2001 1.4mpi classic, serv insp indicator and air bag light

Featured Replies

I have just serviced my car and changed the battery, i cannot get rid of the service insp indicator, how do i do it also how to reset the airbag light as it is now permantly on, it is irratating.

HELP PLEASE!!

You may want to try leaving the battery earth disconnected for a good half-hour, to see if the battery change hasn't just upset the ECU and made the airbag light come on (disconnecting the battery will reset it). If it still stays on, you should get it checked out by a garage or someone with VAG-COM, really.

As for the service indicator, it varies slightly depending on when you car was built, but I believe that on a 2001 one, you start with the key at 0, hold down the trip-reset button on the dash, turn the key two clicks, and release the button after it displays "- - -". But it's in the manual if you want to make sure. Or someone on ebay will sell you 'instructions' for a quid... ;):D
