Newest Skoda Elegance light alarm problem

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have a problem with alarm that informs me that my front parking light is off. I know that i have to drive the car to skoda shop so they could repair this but the nearest koda shop is to far from me and i dont have time to go there. With which software would you recommend me to connect with skoda and how (where is the com input on skoda, etc.)

Thanks in advance!!

The alarm warns you when the lights are left on, either the parking light on one side (indicator stalk in the up or down position) is on or the lights are left switched on.

To provide the warning, three conditions need to be met:

1 The lights are on by any method as mentioned above.

2 The key is removed from the ignition

3 The door is open

The key is sensed as been removed when the S contact on the ignition switch is operated, you can check this by leaving the radio on and removing the key - the radio should turn off. Another check is that the interior light will come on with the key removed.

The open door is sensed when the door release is operated, a microswitch on the door catch is operated. To check, the interior light should come on when the door release is operated.

Another possibility is that the warning buzzer is defective.

The software to use is VAG COM from here:

Ross-Tech: Home

As well as showing any faults, through the measuring value blocks you will be able to test these items.

To go with it you will need a laptop PC and a cable, the Ross Tech cables are by far the best and they contain the software license.

The diagnostic plug on the Octavia I is in the shelf below the steering column, in the Octavia II it is just above the bonnet release handle. Octavia I uses K line and the Octavia II uses CAN for the diagnostics.
