Trust Digital Camera

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any experience of the Trust 960 Powerc@m CCD digital camera. Theres a deal on in Superquinn in Ireland for 99 Euro, is it worth it ?

960 POWERC@M CCD

Compact digital camera with 3.1 Megapixel sensor and 5.0 Megapixel camera resolution

High quality Panasonic CCD optical sensor for sharper pictures

4cm colour TFT display for direct review of pictures and videos

Bring objects up to 4x closer with integrated digital zoom function

Integrated flashlight for bright pictures in situations with little light

16MB memory built-in and pre-installed for a maximum of 81 pictures (1280 x 960)

Would seem a good price for the spec IMHO. Mine was more money for less spec, but then I was going for the "pocket camera" size as opposed to anything bigger. :D (and I don't need the david bailey quality with my piccies)

edited to say that I've never heard of the brand, I went for Nikon Coolpix which is a known quantity for me.

I've only seen the brand on the side of the Jaguar & Jordan F1 cars, I don't know what there like.

I think Trust are a no-frills outfit who generally sell stuff quite cheap. No idea what they're like with digital cameras (which are probably rebadged)... what kind of price do other digicams go for "over there", Gaff? :)

its got be worth 99 euros, it only has digital zoom not optical. Not a problem unless you want close up shots taken from a distance, otherwise seems a decent camera. about

I'm not too sure as I wasn't looking for one, from everyone I've spoken to they say you'd be talking 200-300 Euro for a half decent one. A leaflet came in the door about the special offer and the girlfriend bought it. She is like me and doesn't know anything about Digital cameras, so I thought I'd ask the Briskoda experts.

If you already have it - take a few sample shots of the vRS and post them on here... Then we'll be able to tell you.. ;)

Including some using the zoom from distance, macro of the vrs logo up close, etc etc. :D

Its still in the box, I wanted to make sure it was half decent before I opened the packaging.

Cheers all for the feedback.

pretty good for the low quality setting but your car is looking a little on the pink side, whats the higher setting like.

It's cheap Dutch trash - so OK quality for low price - that no-one in Holland wants to buy anymore after the company MD "managed" Jos Verstappen out of a Jordan seat. Or so the story goes... :D

I tried posting the higher resolution picture but it was too big for the space allocated.

Guys,

Anyone know about SD memory cards,

What brand is good and whats not (I seen a few different brands on ebay)?

On the bottom of the camera it says SD/MMC card, would I be right in assuming you can use either a SD or a MMC card, which would be the best type to use and whats the difference between SD & MMC cards ?

What would be the best size to go ?

Anyone know where I could get good deals on them ?

Thanks,

SD and MMC cards are pretty much the same thing except SD has some security features that MMC is missing. SD is available in larger memory sizes and seem to be slightly cheaper than MMC is purchased from the right place. Price, well they are getting cheaper and cheaper. a 128MB SD card costs

Yep, you're right there, Manny. Most 3.2 MP cameras produce jpegs around 1Mb in size (at the "high quality" or equivalent setting) I use 128Mb Cf cards in my 3.2MP Nikon 990, and get between 80 and 110 pictures per card. The file size depends on the picture content, and how the jpeg algorithm handles it.

Just my 10p-worth.

Phil
