Scirocco Alternatives?

Featured Replies

Just a theoretical question really. I was reading an article about the new VW Scirocco recently and wondered what else was going to be it's competiton?

If it looks anything like the Iroc concept then it will be very much in demand, especially if they make an R32 version. It's going to start at around

Alfra Brera maybe, or their GT?

See what you mean though - seems to have created itself a niche market!

I suppose the BMW 1 series coupe will be a contender when it comes out, but it just looks like a shrunken 3. I Agree the Alfa GT is probably closest in size / concept.

Edit: Oh, yeah, and the Volvo C30, maybe this is a growth segment!

i cant wait to see if they actually do produce the iroc, i would seriously consider buying one.... but not in that horrible green colour

I first thought of the Z4 coupe, but this is much more, starting really at 30k. Was surprised at how much these were :o

It's been spotted testing in the US recently

Carmagazine Scirocco spyshots

A sports car with four seats, clear-cut design, nimble turbo engines, and distinctive measurements it not only gives it an aggressive and sporting appearance, but liberates space in the back for two adults plus luggage...

Apart from turbo, that seems to describe an RX8 too.

RX8 turbo?

was there not a prototype / design study of a Focus-based coupe produced round about the same time as the iroc was getting mentioned?

got a mate in VW who's keeping me updated about the Scirocco, I'm very interested!

Nice motor!
