OIL Warning light after filter and d/v install

I cant post in the technical area and am too stressed out to be bothered why....i have just installed a k&n panel filter and forge dv007 in my octy vrs on a 54 plate....all was well until yesterday when the red oil warning light came on with the accompanying pip sounds .....pulled in and checked oil ....just on the bottom king of the stick....duely filled with oil and no more lights...that is till this morning...on my way home from nighthift the light came on again...sh!t ....pulled in waited a bit and checked the oil...ok..full up...so why am i still getting the light on...starting to worry about driving the car again to avoid serious damage....can anyone assist on this problem...cant get to sleep for worrying that my pride and joy may be going to blow up.......HELP

It's not something like a grain of carbon in the oil pressure sender is it? This is usually more common after an oil change, but gives symptoms that don't add up with known oil volume etc.

oil pump failure common on 1.8t engines

sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds terminal

engine out job on audi's/vw and replace pump unsure if you can do it in place on octys,

Update...It was the oil pump ...had it replaced under warranty ....just...it must have been chance, the oil light coming on after the d/v and air filter install....got out of a major bill by the skin of my teeth....lottery on saturday i think ...

P.S the job only took a day and a half so very much doubt they have had the engine out...sounds like the sump was dropped to get to the pump..
