CD Autochanger

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 Fabia Bohemia Estate and want to fit a cd autochanger. The front passenger seat does not have an opening to fit the unit. Does this mean I have to purchase a new seat base or is there a fitting kit available.

Does anyone know why there is no opening the the passenger seat base to fit the autochanger. Do you have to replace the seat base or cut a hole in it.

Yes if you take note of the post above the fitting kit will provide you with everything you need.

Thank's Stu.

I thought this was the case but wanted to make sure. Do you know if a Kenwood autochanger with a round 13pin DIN plug, will plug into my symphony head unit or will I need an adaptor ?

As per the comments by VRStu. The only other alternative is to locate the autochanger in the boot and run the cables under the carpet / door sill trims from the front to back. This however is a bit more of a faff around that being able to locate it up front. Some of the seats in the Fabia like my elegance have a hidden compartment in them this is why they dont normally have the autochanger capability without the fitting kit. With regards the symphony head unit to the best of my knowledge you will require an adaptor to make it fit.

Steve

Yep as Steve says the ones that Skoda use are the newer style oblong connector.

If you have the original lead which has the round DIN on one end and the 3 Mini ISO on the other and is long enough to reach to the changer you should be ok.

I have a round 13 pin plug fitted to both ends of the cable. I think I need a connects 2 CTASKS001 Adapter. Unless anyone out there knows different.

You need a Mini ISO for the Fabia HU.

If it's of interest, I'm going to shove the 6-disk changer from my Octavia up on the for sale pages later:)

is it easy enough for a novice to fit?

Not too bad. Instructions contained in the kit.

Requires the seat to be taken out, headunit removed and the glovebox lowered.

f*** that then!
