Newbie with VRS SE

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have been lurking on the forum for a week or so now after picking up a Fabia VRS SE and thought it was about time I gave a hola.

After a test drive in a Fabia VRS I just had to have one. I was going to opt for a demo model VRS in black but after some thought I decided to go all out and get the SE. (Nothing wrong with the black one, the SE just seemed better value for money)

After owning a Volkswagen Lupo 1.0 for 3 years it was time for a change and I can say I am extremely impressed with the Skoda! I am loving every drive in it, infact there isn't much time when I'm not driving it. :)

My only gripe with the SE is the lack of Xenons, I saw a Fabia VRS with xenons the other night and it looked fantastic! Without upgrading to the original xenon headlights does anyone know how I can get the xenon look from my standard headlights, what bulbs I would need to buy etc.

Here's a few pics of my new ride!

Cheers,

Alex

Looking good and welcome

Nice car you have there. You can get a HID retrofit kit but this will come without the auto-levelling system and will thus blind oncoming drivers a lot. Do a search and you'll find lots of threads covering it. ;)

And welcome to the site by the way. :D

welcome to the site and nice car you have there

Nice :) - which number is it?

I'd consider some bulb upgrades. Have a look on Powerbulbs. For the std Fabia setip, I'd go Philips X-treme H7s for the dipped beam and Philips VisionPlus for the full beam. And they'll throw in a set of BlueVision sidelight bulbs for free too. And while you're in there, change the indicator bulbs for something a bit more stylish! Either Osram Diadem or Philips SilverVisions.

very beautiful ;)

Oh, and welcome. Car looks lovely

Welcome...... To be honest the lack of xenons & ESP are what make me relieved i didn't wait for the SE to come along rather than get my vRS last year. My previous car had xenons and i really didn't want to go without them if possible.

As has been mentioned above by Steve give Powerbulbs a try as i get all my bulbs from there and they are extremely nice to deal with. I think the longest i've had to wait for items to be delivered was 2 days!!!

Cheers

Dave.

Also try...

Xenon Shop

I wouldn't personally. All you'll do is glare oncoming drivers with a retrofit xenon kit on a Fabia. Bulb fits direct into the headlight housing, so there's nothing to deflect the beam.

Stick to uprated halogens.

Your main beam are the two bulbs innermost.... one on each side.... The dip beam are the bulbs in between the indicators and the main beam.

Using my HIGHLY advanced analysis system, orange is main beam, blue dipped beam and green is the sidelight bulb. Types H3, H7 and W5W respectively.

Hey! It's good to see a fellow VRS SE owner.

Was thinking about Xenon bulbs too but at the minute I havnt done any night driving at all so Just saving a bit of cash to get diamonbrite put on then maybe when it comes to winter time and gets dark around 5pm, then better bulbs will be ideal.

Nice to meet u anyway, where abouts are u from?
