Bigal Rallyred's new VW Passat!

Featured Replies

After selling my 51 plate Octy Vrs to Briskoda member thebloyn here at last is my replacement.

It's an 06 plate VW Passat TDI S (1.9l 105 bhp) in Steel grey.

Interior standard inc. cd player, P.S, electric front windows, 8 airbags, ESP, electronic parking brake.

Exterior standard but have clear indicators ordered and waiting to fit. 16" Milwaukee alloy wheels, body coloured bumpers and mirrors, indicators in the mirrors, reversing sensors retro fitted by dealer for me picking the car up.

Engine standard but hopefully remap on the cards once warranty runs out.

Other things planned and having the windows tinted from the B pillar back but will have to see if the can do a greyish tint.

See here to save clicking on the individual pictures, including the old Octy VRS.

Opinions appreciated I know it's not Skoda but still in the VAG gang.

From 40ish MPG to high 50s makes a difference,

Nice car, the new Passat has really grown on me :)

Thanks, trying to remember how to put the pictures in directly rather than the address from photobucket.

Anyone any ideas?

Very Nice

Looks nice, like the colour. Glad the vRS went to a good home too - nice it's been kept in the club :)

Steve

And for PhotoBucket direct linking into threads, you need to goto your gallery, j40aja - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting and copy the 'IMG code' text from each photo you want to display. So the tag for the first pic is

[ IMG]http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa133/j40aja/IMG_0848.jpg[/img ]

(space added at each end so I could show you!)

So it would look like this when properly inserted:

Hope that makes sense!

Hang on - this isn't working

Unless it's a Brisky setting for the Members Car section?

Steve

cant directly link photos in members motors :(

Oh yeah! Had forgotten :o

You'd have to attach them directly to the post Al, for them to at least display at the bottom of your post as thumbnails, for people to click on.

Like this....

Or just send people direct to your PB gallery, and they can see them all in one go there: j40aja - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Thanks for all the advice and nice comments.

I didn't think i was being thick and it appears more complicated than when I posted pics in my for sale ad.

Gives people a chance to see my old Octy as well.

Still not had a chance to give it the full treatment, clay, polish with rotary and seal and wax but I'll post up when I get a spare weekend, not bad shine from the dealer though.

Looks very smart - wouldn't think it was a 'base' spec model

Planned mods sound spot on as well

The temptation is to try and source a set of 17" Passat B6 Sport wheels and replace the black rubbing strips and bumper inserts with chrome ones but the cost would be scary and the alloys are very rare, wouldn't want replicas.

I think keeping themods subtle and reasonably priced is the way to go and will keep the wife happier.

I would look at alloy upgrades myself. Think the current ones look a bit overwhelmed in the arches.

OEM+ on them is certainly the way to go :) - A set you like in 5x112 and the correct offset (around 54 IIRC?) shouldn't be too difficult - Passat, Octy2, A6, A8, Phaeton ;) etc...

I think the Passat sport B6 ones are the same as Audi A4 5 spokes but not sure what size they are standard as I said earlier i wouldn't want replicas as the quality would be suspect and easier to explain to my insurance company!

Make me an offer ;)

(only joking, definitely NOT for sale!)

That's the beasts!

They do look similar to the Audi ones but subtly different, I think they would be well over 1k from a VW dealer.

Very nice!
