Hello people just picked up my Black Octavia VRS yesterday, and must say very impressed so far, still got lots of stuff to work out yet, like does the stereo play MP3s and will it do this from a DVD disk???, if anyone knows let me know.

I was thinking about getting a 2.0 sport VW Passat, but that was about another 4 to 5 Ks more out of pocket, so went and had a look at the VRS last week, and that was it put down 500 and picked it up yesterday, it an early one on the 55, but its an ex demo so not even done 6000 miles yet, so result.

Now if i done this right you should see a little pic of the car.

so we chopped in my wifes Astra Sxi, and i had to sell my Proton Satria GTI to rasie the funds but as i said well worth it so far.

Welcome along and nice colour the mp3 player willonly play mp3's stored on cd. I beleive the dvd's are written in tighter space on the disc which the mp3 player cannot understand, but its always worth a try to see (and let us know)

Regarding the mp3 player, I'm not sure but I think the head unit only became mp3 compatible from the 07 model year. If the head unit has mp3 written on it then it is mp3 compatible, if not then I don't think it is.

Your car has green brake calipers which indicates an pre MP3 enabled model I'm afraid.

You certainly won't be too worried about a small detail like that when you realise just how much fun it is to drive.

Welcome to the forum and to OctyII vRS ownership, stick around here though and it could wreak havoc on your current wealth as there are some very tempting options open to you starting with a Skoda MFD2 closely followed by Cruise Control or if you fancy giving it a bit of extra 'oomph', you may even be tempted by the current group buy for the OctaviaII :P

so whats with this green brake thing, have they stopped doing green brakes on the vrs then?? and why they look ok, also is there a firmware upgrade for the stereo so that it will play MP3s.
