Ripspeed dvd player

Featured Replies

Hi, has anyone fitted a Ripspeed DV710 or 725? It's a dvd player with motorised screen, i'm hoping to get one soon for my Octavia Mk1. Are they any good?:)

They are Cr@p.

Thanks chaps, i thought as much. I'll stick to a proper brand.:)

money saving advice from the briskodians. well done chaps. although i like the kenwood double din to the pioneer

Hmmm I think I prefer the neat-ness of single DIN. Double din looks a bit "I just stuck a hi-fi in my dash" esque. Of course thats just my opinion.

i have a double din kenwood and it look snothing like you think as its all screen :)

7" touch screen infact :D

yeh thats the type im after a nice large screen to play dvds on etc. i think they look nice

must be a lucky one then, ive had one 10 months and its never missed a beat, plays multi region dvd's and had plugs for about a million different add on components, btw its made in the same factory as pioneer units.wired mine up and for some reason it play while im driving...hee hee.

You get what you pay for with the Ripspeed screens you just have to look at Alpines and Pioneers versions to see where they've cut on quality. the Alpine D-105 and the Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD are the cheapest ones id look at imo. there are cheaper but youll be loosing out a lot on quality and reliability.

the pioneer is also on sale at the moment in a few places so pretty cheap and gives touch screen control iirc.

i think the cheapest pioneer i saw was 479 the kenwood was 450

I had one - this is what my car was broken in to for.... they didnt get it - but in my opinion it was total CR@P. It has now since been changed! (Its worth spending that bit more... trust me)

Cheers - Rob

i would never ever buy a unit without face off not in this day and age

although I think the dv725 has it but 710 does not

I agree....;)

My sister's BF works in Halfords and they've had around 60% returned.

Hm, I'd say our store's only had about 10% back, if that...

although I think the dv725 has it but 710 does not

It doesn't :(

It's on the cards though, so I'm told.

Are you guys going to be watching DVD's whilst driving? I don't understand these things myself as you'll be focusing on the road, yes your passengers may watch, but you'll miss out on most of the action. You could put the money into a good soundsystem with subwoofer etc.

I got myself a Pioneer P7900UB which can play upto 15000 MP3 files (think I got the figure right) organised in directories from a portable hard disk. Besides compatability problems with some hard disks it's not such a bad unit.

Its not made in the same factory as pioneer, thats a myth. ;) Its made by a chinese company called "For You Electronics"
