Octy VRS 30K Service

Featured Replies

Hi All,

After my trip to Cornwall last week the car's now due for the 30K service (and probably the last one before the warranty expires in February) and I have a few questions...

1. The service is due now but I'm getting married in Scarborough at the end of the month and don't really want to shell out more cash... Is there much tolerance on the warranty as to when you get it serviced as I'm probably going to add about 1500 miles to it by the end of the month...

2. After a 6 hour drive to get to Cornwall the other day I noticed water leaking from the car... seemed to be coming from the back and was cold and I am positive it was from the Air Con. Is this just due to condensation on the Air Con (it was running for most of the 6hrs) or is it more likely a leak in the Air Con system somewhere?

3. I have the "mooing" issue. Will they sort this out under warranty at no charge?

4. I also have the squeeking issue when going over bumps (believe this is the bushes?!?). Is this warrantable or will I have to pay for this? Does this cause any other issues in the future or is it just an annoying noise?

5. Cambelt has not been changed yet. Should I get them to do this at the same time?

THankls all and Look forward to your comments.

Mike

I would suggest a main dealer service to clear up any last remaining niggles before the end of your Warranty. There is normally around a 1k allowance.

There is yet another fix for mooing brakes so you ought to get that sorted.

Water underneath is very often the aircon drain.

They will advise you if the cambelt needs doing, you may also want to get the water pump done at the same time - It's not gonna be cheap though.

Is your car covered by new or used warranty ??

1. Not Sure

2. Could be but IIRC comes from the rear of the engine bay area.

3. There is a Moo fix, some have had new pads fitted by skoda. IIRC Warranty job

4. Could be Radiator mounts or ARB bushes. Yes Warranty.

5. This is 60K or 4 years.

My no 4 was covered by new warranty.
