Blueflame Flexi joint needs replacing

Featured Replies

The flexi joint on my full Blueflame exhaust seems to be on it's way out...

The cars been getting noisier so I popped into an exhaust place over the weekend who diagnosed it.

The flexi is at the bottom of the downpipe and joins to the sports CAT.

I seem to remember a few other people have had problems with the flexi.

Blueflame have said a new flexi is

Sadly I doubt you are not alone with that problem with that company mate.

had the same problem, ive had mine replaced at a cost of

I think that this is bang out of order, I am assuming that these are sold with lifetime warranties?

This has made my mind up, when I get a new exhaust it will be miltek

I think that is a wise decision. I have spoken to a guy who fits lots of exhausts and Miltek are the best to deal with and offer the better product.

I was going to get a sports cat from BlueFlame as my car has cat back fitted(I was thinking of going to stage 2)

Do you know if the miltek cat will fit onto a BlueFlame cat back?

I don't want to pay

I don't know personally, it would depend on where the joints are and what pipe size is used.

I've spoken to Blueflame again who say that the original flexi design (as fitted to my vehicle) has now been upgraded and the new version is much stronger.

The only problem I have is that my MOT is due on Saturday, and Blueflame can't fit me in for a repair for the next 2 weeks  their that busy :(

If the car fails and i'm without a car for 2 weeks thats a big problem for me.

Does that mean it's FOC? Warranty honoured?

Seemingly not...

Seemingly not...

There was no small print.

When I bought my turbo back full system and had it fitted at Blueflame, Nigel clearly stated when I handed the money over that the complete system, with no exclusions, had a LIFETIME WARRANTY.

Hi

I have heard a few bad things about the company

I know on SeatCupra.Net there are alot of issues

I wonder if someone could sit them down and make them read the forums

Sarah

It's probably the amount of flexi's they've had to replace that has forced a change in attitude Gerry.

I hear that if you do claim on the warranty you have to buy the new part and return the old one for inspection, if they are found to be at fault you get a refund, if not well then the rest is history.

Surely it would be easier for Blueflame to check the flexi first, to confirm/deny it's at fault before making you shell out more of your hard earned ?

Doesn't seem right.

I too have a Blueflame, so will keep an eye on this thread.

You'd like to think so however I have been told that that is how they conduct their business - Magnex are the same.

True, and I would have gone straight to them in the first place.

However I live 120 miles from them and my MOT expires on Saturday

I'm hoping it's not so bad yet that it's an MOT fail so that I can wait the 2 weeks and then get the car up to them.

Fingers crossed for 10am Friday morning!!

Re: the warranty, I too checked my Blueflame receipt last night and there are no mentions of any exceptions for the flexi / CAT.

Well if it does fail it's MOT due to it, and have tp pay

Anyone got an email address for Blueflame? The one on their website isn't working :( [email protected]

lol...i tried that too. :D

KW do exactly the same thing with their coilovers, you have to buy a new item/items which can be a lot of money, they then send the defective item/items to Germany for inspection, and then you have to wait while they deceide what they are going to do.

Just what you want to hear when you have just been charged

I would add that it isn't just BlueFlame exhausts that have had that issue with the Flexi joint.

I have a full Milltek system and the flexi-joint failed on that.

I had to buy a new section at a cost of over
