Fabia 1.4 coolant system problem

Featured Replies

I suspected that the coolant temperature sensor on my Fabia 1.4 was malfunctioning - the dealer agreed and wanted to charge me

Sometimes a DIY repair just isn't cost effective. By the time you've bought the sensor, bought some coolant had the fault code cleared and got your hands dirty the

What were your symptoms? My car is taking quite a while to warm up now , I'd say double the time it used to and I wonder if there is a problem on the way. It runs and drives perfectly and is using no more fuel than normal.

I am no mechanic but had similar probs, if you take it too garage don't let them fob you off with teh sensor thing its the whole thermostat and doesnt cost that much more

I've had coolant probs with my car. Its a 2002 1.4 8v and the temp gauge wasn't working right and the car was taking ages to heat up. Then I noticed a coolant leak on the front passenger side of the car. It turned out to be some sensor on the side of the radiator. I got it tightened up and I've been ok so far so maybe its worth checking that?
