Hi everyone, does anybody know if there should be a balance weight/damper on the longest drive shaft on an octy mk1 vrs.:confused:

As far as I am aware, no there is not.

Certainly never seen one on my Octy vRS

Cheers thanks for that, I ve had a problem with vibration but this is inconsistant when it happens, ie not wheel balance nor wheel/tyre runout,lower arms were changed just before I bought it.

Also have been underneath everything looks and feels ok.

There is no knocking through the steering wheel with engine on or off.

I might soon be bold though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused:

Dogmount bush/ wishbone inner and outer bushes ?????

Do you know if these are like most other lower arm bolts and have a sleeve or bush inside. I will have look this wk end if no one answers.

Bushes or mounts for sure if it's intermittent; out of balance problems are never intermittent!

As to the bush designs, IME they all have a sleeve that the bolt runs through. What is rare (and troublesome) is having a metal sleeve on the outside too, like on the axle link arms on the Ford Cortina Mk 3 on.
