additional 12volt power socket

Featured Replies

OK people

Im looking to add a 12volt power socket to my octavia, in that little box next to the drivers knee, does anyone know where i can get a kit to install this and how i would go about this???

Not quite what you asked, but I found one of the cheapie switched 4-way ones from Halfords pretty good and easily mountable in an inconspicuous manner.

Yeah ive seen them, but i want to put an FM transmitter in it and never have to see it again kind a thing, if you know what i mean.

I know what you mean, and I also know that I have to retune my FM transmitter quite often as I drive about so like it or not it kind of keeps popping out to say hello.

If you want to hide it, get an ipod and hard-wire it :)

Will the fm transmitter be any use in essex, I know I cant use one where I am. There are so many pirate stations about that its virtually impossible to use a short range transmitter in a car and get any decent reception on the stereo. Especially so on the octavia, because the recieving aerial is at the other end of the car.

I certainly get better sound when I run the transmitter from the socket in the boot, but changing frequencies takes long arms :)

Cabling from the existing one in the centre console to the boot would be ideal. You can order the socket and cover direct from your dealers cheaply enough.
