Featured Replies

Just bought a octy Vrs, amazing performance (compared to my previous car) haven't lost a single duel yet, Beemer drivers are the funniest to beat!! My kids want me to get nitro for it but thats a bit extreme. Other than chipping it (without the missus knowing) what else can I do??????????? My brother has just just bought a Cupra and has gone down the induction kit road, i'm a bit old for all that noise!!!!!!!

Hello and welcome.

I don't know how much of the site you've read yet, but I think you'll find that a remap (chip) will provide all the extra 'go' you need. Many different remap providers, each with their own pros and cons (although some with more than others :)). Changes such as a new induction kit will provide negligible (in comparison) performance gains, but if you are going to change any components, do so BEFORE the remap so that they can be taken into account.

How did you find out about the site?

what else can I do???????????

Come and find out on 24th April!!!

Found the site on search for octavia vrs owners clubs. This was the best that I found!

My local dealer will do a superchip for

:jawsmall: 540 quid for Superchips!

Have a read of this post should give you plenty of information Clicky

And welcome

Addsvrs,

Welcome to the site :wavey:

Alex is right, there is loads of info in the thread he pointed you to. Superchips are OK, I had one for 90k miles on mine with no problems. OK, it hasn't got the poke or smoothness of some others but, if you are worried about your warranty, it's the way to go.

Following up Si's comment come to the National meet on the 24th April at Bruntingthorpe. Unless you want to go on the track its free & there will be a lot of Octys in various stages of mods as well as standard ones so you can compare performances. You might even be able to blag a ride in some !!

Re chip/map my preference is a map which is created specifically for you & your car & IMO probably the best are Jabbasport in Peterbourough, this I think will be a tadge cheaper than the superchip & will probably give you a bit more performance. It might be worth running this idea past your dealer & see if your warranty will be un affected. The Octy engines are really strong & can cope with 350 bhp on standard internals, a map is only going to talke you to around 225-230 bhp

When Jabba map a car its done on a rolling road & the performance can actually be measured & tweakes can be made to suit you, for example boost can be set so that when you are doing 70 in top its off boost, handy for economy.

Induction kits, loads a noise, better suited to novas

Hello and Welcome.

Welcome addvrs !

Echo all the sentiments here as well, and if you need any advice on how to hide things from SWMBO, I'm the expert... but don't tell Mrs Q that :D
