VNT Actuator on Turbo

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've been having the usual problems with my turbo - loss of power, white smoke out of the back etc. My MAF is fine as was replaced recently. I thought the probvlem was to do with the diesel pump and replaced this. But problem still persisted.

So having a look on here, discovered that it may well be the turbo vanes sticking. I have today taken of the turbo and VNT actuator, and found -

The turbo is sooted up as in other posts although the mechanism moves fairly freely. However, my actuator is like a baby's rattle and is full of what I can only assume is rust. I have a feeling that this has been blocking the movement of the actuator arm.

Is there any way of cleaning up or replacing the actuator unit. Or can anyone offer any other useful advice.

Thanks.

Tristan.
