Grande Punto Sporting vs FURBY VRS

Featured Replies

My mate has just ordered one and keeps taking the p1ss saying it will cane my car. Thing is im sure it will as its lighter than mine! oh dear i will have to do something bout that!

Depending on the level of tune your mate is gonna do, it will be interesting. Thing is, with it being lighter, newer, and petrol, reckon it's gonna be a bit of a battle.

Still, bit of a laugh trying :D

Just don't tell him it can be remapped!

Don't think you'll have much to worry about, the chances are it will fall to bits or rot before it gets to 60..............:D

Is this not the 1.9 JTD 130bhp diesel? If not, ignore my above post!

Yeah its the JTD 130bhp. i told him to get a furby. both our cars are standard so will be a good battle. lol

I have the punto sporting 1.9 JTD..... and previousley had the vRS..

Very similar on paper.. my impression was for the first 4,000 miles, the furby had the edge (just) may just be the way the PD unit gives a big shove between 2 and 4 k.. (revs) ... the multijet is much smoother...

however, now I've had it remapped, its a different beast, way quicker than my old furby (don't know about a remapped furby, but me and Mac are gonna find out on Saturday :) ) came alive as the miles piled on (13k now) will be going to the RR at Awsome in Oct for some direct comparisons, and anyone attending the Keswick meet this weekend can have a play ;)

oh, and for the fiat sceptics, problems so far, only problem, new drop links on the suspension... but hey, I guess there's a few vRS's had that done ;)

Thinking my 200ish bhp vRS would have given it a good run for it's money ;)

I think both are good cars, Fiats are much better now then they were (they had to become better) and the Fabia vRS is quite old now to be fair.

Must stay sober long enough :hic:

not in the first 13k miles i wouldn't of thought

Hah, changed a lot worse than that in the first 13k before now ;)

oops :o , but then again, a guys fabia vRS has just had a turbo blow at 23k.. (see fabia section) and my vRS had a new gearbox, driveshafts, mounting frame, EGR, and control arm bushes in its 20 months (and 80k) of existance!! the fiat will have to do badly to beat that!

It's not the cars, it's not the price, it's not the manufacturers or how they're put together. It's just pot-luck!

Price means.. You can buy a 30 year old car for a tenner, and not have any problems with it for a year, whereas you can buy the latest lexus and have streams of problems.

Yes, but didn't your VRS have hundreds of learner drivers learning how to drive in it, that's bound to take its toll!

As for the test in Keswick, i'd go as far to say pretty even but i was dying for you to lead us up a long straight hill but you decided against it...... i wonder why!
