Metal sump guard???

Well, I am looking at taking the trip over the pond late April and would be on the holy search for a metal sump guard. I have already managed to crack the sump on an ice block :mad: (aluminium TDI engine..) Was wondering if there are other options (cheaper), than the Skoda steel sump guard. The car is an Octavia 2003 TDI (130 bhp).

I think that Jon (TaviaRS) would recommend fitting the standard sump guard. If it's good enough for him AND Cambridgeshire Police Force Octavias, it should be good enough for the rest of us mere mortals. :)

Whats the part number / price of the standard sump guard

Christian, the sound absorber is the same shape and size as the sump guard so I guess it sits on top of it when fitted. The guard might be available as a complete kit. Failing that, all the parts needed are clearly listed and priced on ETKA.
