One touch windows

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

When I try and put the window up to the top it goes 3/4 way up then back down again... it seems to have a mind of it's own!! It doesn't do it everytime, but sometime it takes me 3-4 times to get the window up!

I've tried the "one touch" guide but it didn't seem to work.

Any ideas? It's annoying!!!!!

Thats the roll back, it thinks something is caught in the window. If the one touch reset doesnt work then I would try spraying some silicone in the window guides to ease the window a little.

Saying that the windows have been squeeling a little when going down in the last month...

Spray silicone? Where would I get this! I thought silicone was a plastic that drys hard?

Anything else I could spray?

Lummox you da man!

Silicone spray, good for lubricating stuff as its thin, slippy and water resistant.

In more common form perhaps

Back to Black

Mr Sheen furnature polish (etc)

Dash Dandy

etc

Worth giving the window rubbers a wipe with the window down before you spray the Silicone.

It tends to be the build up of road grit/grime that causes the problem.

I`ve had the same problem for the last year and have tried all of the above to no effect. Mine seems to do it more when its raining and (for reasons I cant figure out) when i turn my lights off while the window is going up

I feel like a right prat when i park up and the window is going up and down. :finger:

Yup, same problem here too, mines done it for years...

You can buy it from Maplin's. I found it great for stopping the door seals sticking to the door frames on my old Granada.
