Looks like a Scout for me then...

Featured Replies

Popped into my friendly dealer and they gave me

More or less the same as what I have done although I haven't gone for the roof or the heated seats in lieu of parking sensors and cruise.

The roof makes things cold in the winter and warm in the summer, although it does make the interior feel bigger. Heated seats i have only ever found them of use in convertibles. I think if you want the roof you are better going for a 3 and speccing that up. The Scout looks much better though

Des, almost the same spec as the one I have on order, although I also added electric rear windows, bike holder for the boot and the adjustable armrest.

I went for the polar blue.

Which engine are you going for? TDI I presume?

adjustable armrest.

Christ nearly forgot that, thanks, need to add it. Going for the 105 TDi.

I did consider the 3 but the Scout looks better and actually works out better value with the various other options and all the bits and bobs that make up the exterior of the car.

Decron, seriously re-consider the roof, you'll only regret it!!

The Scout looks loads better and the alloys really compliment it. I also worked out that the standard ESP made it better value too except for the roof. I think there is only a few quid in it but it looks so much more sturdy than a 3. As for the roof, it's not something I could justify

I went for Diamond Silver so I don't need to wash it that often or worry so much about stone chips. It's due for delivery in about 4 weeks, fingers crossed.

You gonna get it remapped? Think I'll put a 1000 on it then take a trip to Jabba. Actually I still haven't seen a Scout so just taking my dealers word for it, he reckons it looks much better than a 1/2/3, the only thing that worries me is the black interior but then coming from a Fabia VRs I should be used to it.

Worried about the effect of a permenent remap on the DPF. If I could get my Oneclick converted to it I would but they don't do EDC16 ecus.

I may do a tuning box, becaue I like to be able to take it off when I need to.

The scout looks like this (In diamond silver), I think it looks pretty sweet ;)

The interior is loads better and you shouldn't have any issues keeping it clean. I had one for a week while the vrs was in have work done and found it a great vehicle. Much more exclusive than the Fabia too ;)

And almost the same spec as mine (1.9TDi, Maxi Dot, Climatronic, Rear Parking Sensors, Diamond Silver), minus the roof and heated seats.

Looks like the Scout is picking up a few fans on here! But still more exclusive than the Fabia II :-)

Mine's estimated to be delivered on 13th September, the day we go on holiday, so unless it's early I'll have to wait (yet) another week.

The Scout looks pretty good in the pic above but the colour looks curiously like a hybrid! I guess it's Diamond Silver, but it could easily be Diamond Blue or Anthracite Silver ;-)

I think that is the Polar Blue which I have ordered :)

I dont know if you know this , but Diamond Silver has been discontinued from w/c 20/8/07 (ie last week!) and has been replaced by Brilliant Silver. This applies not just to the Roomster , but over the whole Skoda range of cars. I havent seen what it looks like so maybe that is the new silver in that pic?

PS Those wheels are nice , its a shame you cant even spec them in this country as a cost option.

Interesting.... Ill need to call the dealer as mine should have been built by now.

Those wheels are 17"s but I thought they are the same style as the 16"s fitted to the UK Scouts.

Should be putting down my deposit tomorrow :)

BTW, the 17" wheels are available but they just do not advertise them. My dealer found a Roomster on the system spec'd up with climatronic, parking sensors and 17" alloys. If you ask your dealer he should be able to add them for you. I'm quite happy with the standard 16" wheels, rather have the extra comfort they provide.

Hmmm, when I went through the order process with the dealer on their computer system the 17" wheels didn't come up as an option. I might have had them, on the other hand the extra cost, poorer ride and higher price of tyres might have put me off. I like the style of the 16in anyway.

Hope you all enjoy getting your Scouts, I am over the moon with my Scout.

They look far more spory and rugged than the 1,2 and 3.

I didn't want the 3 because of the glass roof, worried about the structural integrity if it ever ended up on its roof, plus I didn't like the idea of some bored hoodie with a spare brick on a motorway bridge using it for target practice..............maybe I'm being paranoid!

We both are! The thought crossed my mind as well!

I do think it looks good with the glass roof though and aside from hoodies with an anti-Roomster vendetta, it was more the privacy aspect (lorry drivers peering in during the inevitable M25 queues) and the temperature concerns (too hot in summer?, too cold in winter?) and the stability angle that you mentioned that made me shy away from it.

The glass roof is supposed to keep out 97% of heat radiation and I think is sunset glassed like the rear side windows for privacy too.

Maybe we should start a Roomster Scout register on here? :)

Plus it also has blinds. It really is the one option you should have, can't think of anything negative against it.

Hmmm - those 17 in. wheels do look good.

As for the glass roof, well maybe my potential arguments against have been shot down in flames, but hey, it's too late now! I blame my parents ;)
