I have vrs estate. can you put 17" wheels on?

As far as I know you can - try searching the forums, as it's probably been done before... :)

Yes.

Yes, I've been running 17" vRS wheels with stock 205 rubber on my estate for 6 months now - no clearance problems even when fully loaded and towing. Only reasons I can think they went for 16" wheels are they're cheaper and/or they have a higher load carrying capability (a few extra kgs). I have not noticed much difference in ride comfort going from the original 15" wheels to the 17 inchers.

Speaking with my dealer the official line is that the vRS Combi was fitted with 16's due to concerns regarding bodyshell flexibility. I assume the logic is that the larger section on the 16" tyre helps to negate some of the shock loading possibly with a full load. Personally, I find it hard to believe that the factor of safety is that tight and suspect it's more to do with economics.

Mine will be going straight onto 17's and then sometime later will be lowered. Is yours running stock suspension Andrew?

Usually best to keep your eyes peeled for a second hand set of 17" vRS rims.

Apologies fro the delay in replying - not had chance to get on the net over Easter.

At the mo, I'm on standard suspension but there is plenty of clearance around the wheels & tyres so I can't see any probs with lowering.

Have you looked in the "For Sale" forum in the last 18 hours or so...? :P
