Looks like he needs a new gear box...........with a better car attached to it.

Update :

My friend has broken his City Rover Gearbox, should have listened to everyone on here!

If he can wait he should be able to buy a gearbox from TaTa in India for not much at all (It's a cheap car out there) although shipping won't be cheap it will most likely work out cheaper than getting one here new.

Or he could jsut get it rebuilt.... and then sell it
