brake calipers on vrs

Featured Replies

Hi there ,quick question on the mk2 VRS what colour do the brake calipers come in on the black VRS are they red?,as I read somewhere on the forum that the 2008 model they were going to switch back to green. Is this true ? is there an option on what colour you want for the brake calipers.I have seen green on the silver VRS,s is this standard?can someone help please.thanks

Red on all 2008 models in this country - no option as far as I know.

They were green prior to the 2007 models at which time they became red. Nothing to doing with whether it's a diesel or petrol as reported in one magasine review.

Mine are green, as they should be...

Its a shame they changed from green. The green was a Skoda identity that I thought worked well.

Tightwad VAG for you.

Saving money by getting them all Red, instead of having to get the same calipers done in Red and Green for 2 different cars, it means they can share the same parts bin now between the Golf GTi and the vRS, maybe even the Leon (dunno if they have painted calipers...)

I think only the Cupra has painted calipers.

I fitted a Cruise to a new shape Leon TDi today which I was surprised to find didn't come with an engine cover according to the owner. How tight is that!!

'kin Hell!!

That IS tight!

Well i suppose they sell the Leon's for a pittance compared to the rest of the VAG range, gotta make up for the lower prie by cutting some costs eh?

What made it even more strange was that it had the rubber shroud on the oil filler and dipstick and the rubber mounting for the cover - just no cover.

some factory chimp probably forgot to put it on maybe...

My VRS didn't have any sound deadening in the bonnet - soon to be rectified by my dealer as a warranty item as it should have it. Maybe the Leon owner needs to go see his dealer and ask for his engine cover as I don't believe they wouldn't have one.

Mmmh - interesting as my 07 plate VRS doesn't have the under-bonnet sound-proofing, which, according to my dealer, is no longer provided.

What reg is yours?

I saw another vRS last weekend which didn't have the sound deadening either.

My 56 plate did not come with sound deadening.

Does anyone know when Skoda stopped fitting it?
