Hi mate, its not at the moment  my gearbox had died after 18k miles since it was rebuilt! :thumbdwn:

But all is good, a williams gearbox is on its way so should last a bit longer and its finally getting properly setup and mapped within the next month or so.

Just cant decide what management to go for yet! Im tempted with a sneaky shot of nos as well. See how the mapping goes first though I think!

bare in mind the williams box will give you a shorter 1st and 2nd ratios, the 19 16v box would have been my choice to be honest, the 1st and 2nd are slightly longer than the clio's so it would have made for slightly better 0-60 and 1/4 mile sprints.

from experience i found rebuilding boxes a waste of time and money, a recon unit from renault with a 12 month guarantee was the end result. albeit costing the best part of a grand with fitting and vat !!!

for the management you could do alot worse than luminition, they're ECU's will manage NOS for you as well if you go for a decent model.

I noticed your post on RSc about Aldons. They are based in the midlands and specialise in Carb and throttle bodie conversions. they deal in luminition as well but TBH i'd go to somewhere like Hill Power. I dont have anything against Aldons but Nick knows his beans when it comes to the 16v renault engine, and he deals with luminition as well ;) last time i was talking to him he was saying something about the possibility of launch and traction control with the luminition ECU and the standard ABS... providing you have ABS on the clio that is...

End of the day the choice is yours though.

well with the willy box all the gears are the same apart form 5th which is longer! The only reason a willy wont do 60 in 2nd is due to the limitor being at 6500rpm as apose to the valvers higher rev limit. The bearings are bigger and the housing is thicker and it generaly a lot stronger than the 16v box. They can handle up to about 250bhp which is more than enough for me! but should be able to handle future throttle bodies if i get em!

as for HP, do they have a RR yet, cos i had a HP stage 2 chip and it was sh1te to be fair! i swapped back to standard ecu and there was no difference other than the rev limit was lower! although the luminition should be a proper job as its fully mappable not an off the shelf jobbie!

althouh im thinking of going for the SMT6 now at GDI, its a piggyback chip but a decent price, similar to the dastek. problem for me with standalone management is the price! will be mega expensive, and im only a poor student lol!

have u had the octavia jabba chipped yet then mate?
