Bondage

Featured Replies

Hi guys, Ive got some *items* (Ill put a thread up later;) ) for my car which need to be bonded to the bodywork with some seriously sticky glue (skoda stuff for bodykits) and I want something less permanant incase it needs removing. I was thinking of silicone sealant (bathroom stuff) as its waterproof, but could do some bonding, and will come off quite easily if needed - will this do?

What else can you think of that I could use on say, a bumper spoiler?

The problem you going to have is you need it to be very strong!

At high speeds you may find whatever you have stuck down comes flying past your windscreen

Your going to need some sort of Polyurethane Adhesive

No no, lol, the thing is secured with lots of screws etc, its just a small part that isnt flat with the rest of the body and I need some adesive to pull it in. Its prob better if I explain it with some pics which are now uploading....

On the side at the top, from the fog to the arch (but along the very top of the lip) needs glueing as there is a gap

Not quiet sure what you're sticking to where, but local bodyshops sell double-sided padded sticky tape. Might be worth giving that a go, else pop round and I'm sure they'd know the correct glue to use. Personally I wouldn't use anything too strong :)

get yourself some sikaflex body sealent

Another vote for sikaflex from me. I used it for my rear difuser and it's brilliant. It can be removed, I would be lying if I said it was easy but it does come off.

If you want some, let me know. I barely used any from the tube I bought.

Doh! In my stupidity I over complicated my solution - your right, double sided sticky will do the job spot on:thumbup:

Blue Peter badge en route:D

Thanks for the other suggestions guys:thumbup:
