Octavia - Bluetooth Car Kit

Featured Replies

Does anyone have experience of the factory fit Bluetooth / Hands free kit?

I have a Vrs on order and considered this factory fit option alongwith the other items ordered.

However, the stealer kept putting me off the idea saying that the option was not very good an dI would be better going for a retro fit, such as a Parrot.(which they gave me a brochure for and can supply)

I am familiar with the Parrot, having one in my current vehicle.

I can easily put aside the fact that they will make more margin on a Parrot system than a factory fit option but am I to take there comment seriously?

If any member has such a factory fit option, please let me know if you are happy with it.

I still have time to add it to my order and I will be able to make an informed decision.

Thanks

I'd be very surprised if you could have ordered the factory bluetooth - AFAIK it's still not an option in the UK.

Search bluetooth and you'll find quite a lot of info.

If you can factory order it (and the price is right) I would say do it.

I have a retro-fitted one (thanks Stu) and it integrates perfectly.

Thanks Stu.

Now you have got me scratching my head (despite the danger of splitters!)

Just been on the Skoda site and sure enough, no factory fit option. However, the list of factory options was read out to me at the stealer.

I had better call them to clarify.

At this stage it would appear that the decision has been made for me!

Thanks again.

Get the factory option. I got one retro fitted and its fine. There is more functionality with the cradle also fitted or the multi function s/wheel for voice control.

The skoda blueooth is great :)

bluetooth = ace :thumbup:

Mine came factory fitted and let me tell you, it's excellent piece of equipment. You have all buttons on your steering wheel to access phone book, last received and dialed calls, etc, but if you don't have buttons on the steering wheel, you can use buttons on wipers/on board computer stick. Works the same. Also, if you have compatible phone (search posts here for compatibility) your phone book is transfered to the car and you don't need to take the phone out of your pocket to use it. When you get into the car and start the engine, connection is established by itself and when you turn the engine off, connection is off. All without taking the phone out of the pocket. When receiving the call, callers ID is shown on MaxiDot... and many other options. If your phone is not compatible, you can still use it but no phonebook transfered to the vehicle. I haven't ordered it and only two months after getting the car understood that it came with Bluetooth. Now I can't live without it and I'll make sure my next Octy has one factory fitted.
