Halfords wipers

Featured Replies

Someone mentioned a while back that Halfords Wiper set 102 is fine for Octy 2 even though only listed for Audi A3 etc.

It is now officially listed for Octy, from 2005 onwards, in the booklet found on their wiper shelf. Gone up a bit though to £24.99 [fronts only]. But possibly still a fraction cheaper than internet buys.

Hmmn, Thats not very good value now is it?

isn't that what sales cars are for in the company carpark??:)

Thats a lot of money for a crap product unless they've improved on them greatly cant see it though

Ive tried them before and wouldnt get them again as they were not very good at all

There are far better wiper sets about for about the same or less money such as the bosch

Well, I'll let yah'all know! I just fitted them - my last set were Valeo from Wiperblade.co.uk, seemed okay, lasted about 8000 miles maybe. They weren't really knackered even now but I thought I'd give the car a present. Be interesting to compare with the others later on.

The Valeo ones are at present £23.75 + 70p first class postage

im still on my original set after 22,000 miles and they are fine. i just make sure i clean them when i was the car and dont run them when there ice on the screen

you might be able to pick some up from euro car parts

Just fitted these Halfords set 102s on my vRS today as been getting lots of smearing with what I can only assume are the original wipers (car about 1.5years old with 16k on clock). Don't know if they suck compared to the Valeo or Bosch wipers but they are a tremendous improvement over the old ones, leave the window perfectly clear now :)

Hope they last at 25 quid a pop for some own brand jobbies....

The halfords blades don't last very well in my experience, but I've not tried their aero ones.

GSF were cheaper for BOSCH ones than halfords. That plus the refills you can get for a seat altea aero blade fit in the octy much better and make it £10 for a new set :)

Sounds like the way to go now is the Skoda original parts refills someone mentioned on the forum a while back. How do the SEAT ones fit? Do you get new caps with them like the Skoda parts ones?

The part numbers somebody mentioned only appeared on the seat parts catalogue listed against the altea at my local dealer. Since they have a seat arm, they ordered some in :)
