Temperature sender & Anti-roll bar probs.

Featured Replies

Just had temp sender replaced by dealer as Octavia VRS was hesitating for first minute or so when driving on a cold engine. Still got the problem though?

Also getting anti-roll bar replaced tomorrow due to a quite severe knocking noise when driving slowly both forwards and in reverse. Dealer has inspected and reckons bushes and links are excessively worn. Going ahead with replacement, but motor has only done 59,000 miles and wouldn't expect this kind of problem yet?

Anyone got any thoughts on the 'hesitating when cold' problem, and/or premature anti-roll bar faults?

Hi carper and welcome to Briskoda!

I suggest that you post your question in the relevant Octavia section (Mk1/Mk2) and surely you'll get some good advice (not everyone checks the threads of this section)

Hiya.

The ARB problem is endemic on the vRS on about that sort of mileage. The real issue is when the bushes wear enough to braek the surfacing on the bar.

Just replaced mine whilst the engine was out.

Welcome to Briskoda.

I had a new ARB bar, ABR Bushes and fitting done at Skoda £143 at 49K, 3.5 years old.

Thanks for the info and will re-post in the correct area (beginners teething problems I think).

I got the car back from a major service and central door locking motor, some £600 worse off.. and within 20 miles there's a knocking cruncy noise going over speed ramps, then within 200 miles the car knocks all the time.. been told i need a new ARB and bushes.. at another £269.. not happy.. the cars a 53 plate, with 33,000 on the clock... If only everything was as reliable as a VW eh..
