Bumped

Featured Replies

Was out teaching yesterday and my learner pulled up sharply for some traffic lights. The guy behind must have just made a decision to boot it and follow us through but paid the price for driving too close, too fast and not paying attention. We were stationary for about 2-3 seconds before he hit, so plenty of time for him to stop if he was driving sensibly. Only minor damage and no injuries so no real problem, but it's good he'll now be paying for the scuff which was there before he added worse damage

Ho-hum

Hee Hee, serves him right.

Are you sure you didn't sustain whiplash

Really sure...........

Can't be bothered with all that, but the thought did cross my mind :D Given the minor damage it would be difficult to justify it :(

make sure there is no hidden damage behind the rear bumper , for some reason Fabias are prone to rear chassis leg damage , possibly due to the crash bar fitted behind the bumper

Is that easy to check?

I'd noticed scuff marks on my rear bumper a few months after buying it, and then i had someone hit the back of me on a roundabout a few years ago, he expected me to pull away into a small gap on the roundabout but i didnt! There's no real evidence of the hit, the bumper hasnt cracked or dented but i have no idea whats directly behind the bumper.

Just get it in to a good bodyshop- preferably a VAG-approved one. When someone rearended my A3 it only looked like rear panel damage, but they spotted a very slight ripple in the rear quarter I'd missed. It needed jigging and pulling.

has happened twice to me during the 11 years I've been instructing, thankfully not in the fabia, or the GPS tho! claim loss of earnings from the third party too, while your car is off road for repairs..... I got about £250.......

My policy supplies a dual whilst mine is off the road, and I can be flexible with the repair timing to make it as efficient as possible. Can't be @r$£d milkingit TBH, just want it fixed.

yeah, mine does too, but the 'legal' team gave me a choice, have a replacement dual control car while its being repaired, or claim loss of earnings, and I thought "how often does a driving instructor get PAID time off work?" lol.... so I took a couple of days off ;)

I understand you just wanting it fixed though, any accident is a pain ....

Might ask about that option :P

Must be the season my fabia just got rear ended and shunted into the car infront! ******* lexus drivers i hope mine isn't a write off :(

I've still got a rear end bump to sort out, may well get a holiday this year then!

It said to especially beware of Hairdressers driving Lexus's (Lexi ??) around Oldham
