How similar are pd100 and pd130 inlet manifolds?

Featured Replies

On the fabia of course? :)

I could do with an answer before tomorrow morning. ;) Essentially, I want to know if a pd100 inlet manifold could be used on my pd130 engine without any real issues, whilst my current one gets some "treatment".... I know it will hook up fine with my EGR replacing pipe - It's just the "flow" issues I guess I'm worried about, particularly if it only flows up to 50% of what a pd130 manifold does.

Thanks. :)

I'd have thought it would be fine, especially if you perhaps dont bother with the NOS ;)

Just lack of air I'm worried about, which in my case would mean more of the black stuff, and maybe having to lay off the throttle a bit whilst the work is being carried out. I'm glad I at least have a spare head so I don't need to find one of those to borrow for a while.

Thankfully the spare head I'm referring to is metal and has 8 valves lodged in it. :D

Isnt that standard issue down there? Something to do with DNA being too similar ;)

It's OK - I'm an immigrant to these parts - Midlands originally, with a full set of DNA strands, and no webbing between my toes. ;)

from what i can tell, they have different P/Ns , how much difference in the parts is anybodies guess , you will obviously find out tomorrow when you have both parts side by side in front of you

watch you don't scratch your freshly painted rocker cover :P

 Heaven forbid! I might take a look at the TDI's one first before removing it - or might remove it off the wreck for the hell of it.... It looks like the only way to get an inlet manifold to borrow, whilst I'm getting my current one bored out a bit.

Thing is, I thought it was similar enough, as wasnt there another one of these manifolds with two 'ports' per cylinder, to get improved performance low in rev range? Think that was on TDIclub as well now.

Wouldnt expect a lot of trouble tbh :D

Damn, the engine had gone. Might have to see if Allards have a spare inlet manifold.... Gutted really, as I sold one to a chap in Canada, from that engine I had in the boot at the last Newbury meet....

I'm just trying to think if I have a spare one now, will check when I get home, PM me your mobi number and I'll take a snapshot for ya

There's one bolted to your engine now - If you're not planning on doing anything with your engine for a little while? PM sent
